Non-NHS Services

We are covered by the NHS for the majority of our services but our patients and the various bodies representing them ask us to undertake certain non NHS work such as claim forms, insurance reports, letters, certificates, etc. We make every effort to meet their demands but charge fees for such work since it places an additional workload on our clinicians and staff. We display a poster in the waiting room outlining our charges. NHS clinical work has to take priority so it is not always possible to respond quickly to private services.

We currently do not accept payment by card.

The fees charged are based on the British Medical Association (BMA) suggested scales and our reception staff will be happy to advise you about them along with appointment availability.

Private Patients

We are happy to see those who are not eligible for NHS care as private patients.

Medical Certificates

Illnesses lasting 7 days or less do not require a doctor’s certificate. You can complete a self-certification form (SC2) which should be available from your employer or you can download one from the HMRC website. You can also collect this from reception.

If your employer or insurance scheme requires a doctor’s certificate to cover the first week of illness, we can issue a private certificate, for which there will be a charge.

If you require a sick not for an illness which lasts more than a week a ‘Statement of Fitness for Work’ can be issued by your doctor free of charge.
