A Zero Tolerance Policy towards violent, threatening and abusive behavior is now in place throughout the National Health Service.

The staff in this practice have the right to do their work in an environment free from such behavior and everything will be done to protect that right.

In no circumstances will any violent, threatening and abusive behavior be tolerated in this practice. If you do not respect the rights of our staff we may choose to inform the police and make arrangements for you to be removed from our practice.

Information For New/Existing Patients
- I agree to the DNA and Zero Tolerance policy
1- The NHS operate a zero tolerance policy with regard to violence and abuse and the practice has the right to remove violent patients from the list with immediate effect in order to safeguard practice staff, patients and other persons. Violence in this context includes actual or threatened physical violence or verbal abuse which leads to fear for a person’s safety. In this situation we will notify the patient in writing of their removal from the list and record in the patient’s medical records the fact of the removal and the circumstances leading to it. 2- A Did Not Attend (DNA) occurs when an appointment is not attended and the Patient has not contacted the Practice in advance to cancel it or where the cancellation is so late as to make it impossible to allocate that time to another Patient who needs treatment. Our Practice has a 3 DNA policy, if this happens then you will be removed from the practice and will have to either re-register or find another suitable surgery.
